  1. I think this might be overkill for what you are trying to achieve but there might be something in the following you will find useful.

If you want to study online these are a few of the sites that might be worth checking out:

    http://www.mangolanguages.com/main - 50 (out of 100) lessons free

http://www.xanthi.ilsp.gr/filog/ - web version is free

http://www.ilearngreek.com/ - not much for free but short term membership quite cheap

The above are quite comprehensive. If you want a little more basic try the BBC site - http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/greek/

    More links here - http://www.geocities.com/yioulepp/Learni...

If you don't mind paying, and want to try something different, the following seems to have good reviews:

    earworms Rapid Greek - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rapid-Greek-Esse...

I have only listened to the demo - interesting method!

If you prefer books with audio there are so many but a visit to Amazon should help you choose. I have the BBC's Greek Language and People and Niki Watts' Colloquial Greek.

To reinforce vocabulary you can try:

    http://www.flashcardexchange.com/

and these excellent software programs (both free):

    Interlex - http://www.vocab.co.uk/

    Teach2000 - http://teach2000.memtrain.com/

When your vocabulary increases have a look at the Greek Easy Reader series from Istros Publications. These books use 'relatively' simple Greek with a glossary for more difficult words. You can usually find these at the airport or in bookshops when you get to Greece.

With a little Googling you will find much more. If you have a PDA or PDA phone there are some good software programs including dictionaries.

When you get to Greece, the best advice would be to not let everyone speak to you in English. This has been my big mistake. Throw yourself in at the deep end! Also, armed with a good dictionary and verb book, try reading the banners on Greek tv news and gossip shows. Watch foreign programmes with the volume down so that you start to read the subtitles.

I apologise for going on and on.....

    Good luck.

  2. your avatar looks like my ex girlfriend. exept she shaved her head the other day.  :D

  3. Well you need to start by learning the alphabet. try this:

    http://www.langintro.com/greek

  4. Live with some one greek who speak greek every day you be speaking greek in 6 months gaurantued... omg that macedonian is as dumb as they come ..the programe you idiot not the stone.....

  5. "Basic greek" is did by males, not females.

and, The Rosetta Stone is on Macedonian, not "greek".

  6. Look into a pen pal program online.  You can find a Greek pen pal and write to each other in Greek.  Odds are, you will find a person who wants to speak better English so you can help each other out.

  7. you can get a dictionary and a greek book and translate the words you want to know

p.s i can help u if u need something im Greek

  8. I heard Rosetta Stone is a good language learning program!
