you can get a trainer or do it the hard way. Jump on it and learn what the horse does when you turn the rope a certain way. But in mind if you pull the rope towards you to far that horse is going to rare up. when you pull the rope towards you, it makes them stop. When you start to learn to ride a horse you have to let the horse know you are in charge. Keep your eyes looking forward, never let a horse know that you are not paying attention. picture your self on a horse and you are holding the rope. say you want the horse to go right,you let the left side of the rope relax on the horse while you take the right side of the rope and pull it to the right just a little at a time to make him go as far right as you want him to go. Then opposite to make him turn left. But I would do the training thing so you can learn everything about a horse..
