  2. totally know where you are.  i pulled from a couple of different looks.

i'm not into those stores either so i switched to thrift shopping. the thing is w/that, you have to be picky and not settle for junk.  (look for unique pieces of clothing. stuff no one has)

    full length skirts/reg jeans/linen floods

    sandals/sneakers/no heels

    less t-shirts/more blouses

    no sweatshirts/only fitted jackets/sweaters

subtle patterns are good. flashy is cliche and noisy.

look for cotten fabrics, not polyester or nylon.

    vintage wear.

    hair:

curly is great.     straight is fine too.

i have extremely thick curly hair, so i don't usually take the time to straighten in.

clips and floral hair accessories are cute and look smart

head bands/ NO HAIR SPRAY!  el naturel is way better.

    make-up:

i don't wear a lot of make up.  eye liner, neutral shadows, and fade from dark to light.  mascara is a pain in the *** so i don't wear it either.

    accessories:

    not too many

i wear lots of rings.  don't know why, but i hardly ever take them off and they've become a signature part of my look.

necklaces that aren't all jazzed up. (no plastic sh*t)

earings that look antique, but not rusty. ya know what i mean?

    hand made looks really good.

sea shells and glass non cemetrical beads fly really well.

if you like any of these suggestions, make em your own.  change em,

find what works for you.             good luck :)
