How can i learn to sing rock?

I've been playin guitar for awhile now and i wrote a couple songs this week and i want to sing them good enough to actually make the songs. My music is kinda post-grunge like seether so i dont wanna sound pretty lol.

My problem is i live in a mainly black southern area so i have the voice of a southern rapper like T.I. (me and my boys stopped listenin 2 rap becuz of lames like soulja boy)

Listen to Led Zeppelin, The Who & Metallica. But don't mimic them, create your own style.

Just listen daily to any one of your fav. rock groups and sing along until you like the way your voice sounds..then come up with your own style...it worked for me.
