  1. Craigslist/atps/housing....  your city

  2. There's a site called Craigslist.org.They should service your area but just check it out to be certain. No offense but, I hope she's not moving with the two of you. She doesn't sound very responsible. Who in their right mind would ruin their credit by losing a home. Having somewhere to live is far more important than a car. Unless you don't mind living in it. I wouldn't want to take public transportation either, but I would swallow my pride and save my money to have my car fixed later. I'd get off the Bart or the bus and go inside my nice warm house. What if there aren't any places available to rent? Most people live in the same place for years. They are stable. If no one is moving out. You can't move in. Another thing, you might want to check with a different mechanic. That sounds like too much for brakes. I have to take my Cadillac to the dealership and they are charging me a little more than $500 and it's for a fuel pump that is located inside the gas tank. I'm almost sure things are more expensive here and I'm in California. Just some things to think about. I hope this helps. Good luck.

  3. yup. craigslist.org is the way to go.
