Im 17, 5'9", 158 pounds and spend every other day at school working out in the weight room for 45 minutes(intensely) and then another 30 minutes conditioning soon after(sprinting, jogging, stair climbs,etc).... and on top of that, i go to an mma gym and do Brazilian jiu jitsu for an hour and boxing conditioning right after for another hour. i do that about 4-5 times a week. I eat healthy, drink nothing but water, i eat small meals every 2-3 hours to keep my metabolism going and take a vitamin pill as well as fishoil and calicium. I've been doing all this consecutively for about 5 months and have at least another 10 pounds of fat to lose, but it wont go away.....

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!??? WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?1

supplements maybe?!

Please any words of wisdom will be appreciated :)

  1. You should get your body fat percentage taken. Since you are very active, you may have a lot of muscle. Don't worry about your weight. Your body fat % is what's most important.

  2. Don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat.

You are doing nothing wrong. That is an excellent effort. Maybe you could try a new tactic, like:

Eat as much watermelon as you can throughout the day. Drink heaps of water. Try not to eat junk or fatty foods either.

Each night about ½ an hour after dinner or ½ an hour before breakfast, go for an approximately 15min run/jog. If you can, run with light weights in your hands, pulling them up to your shoulders as you go. You only really need to do this if you want fitness, though. (You should never really exercise within ½ an hour of exercising).

In the first week you might:

-Feel sick in the stomach. This is because you are flushing out toxins from your body. This will pass within a few days. You will be much healthier afterwards!

-You may find that your weight stays the same or even goes up. This is normal. After a week you will feel and see the difference. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, but don’t let this stop you from exercising!

Good luck with everything and I hope you get the results you want!

  3. i guess that you are over worked with all of the things that you are doing. just take it easy

  4. There is only one way to get rid of that fat - and that is to burn it off.

Since you are already doing a lot of exercise, and I wouldn't recommend that you do any more, the only answer is that you start looking more closely at your nutrition.

If you want rid of that fat, this is what you have to do.

Nutrition is by way far the hardest thing.  Sure, exercise is hard work, but it's easy compared to controlling what you put in your mouth.  It's also by far too complicated for an answer here, so instead I'll refer you to the link below.

You can try other things, but my experience and the experience of those who I've seen be successful at what you want points to only that one answer.

  5. Not sure if it will make a difference for you but it did for me. I'm 5'4" and previously weighed 117lbs with a 8% body fat i think. i started weight lifting and taking Creatine and within the first week i dropped to 112lbs and had a body fat of 5% and added a protein supplement now i weigh 123lbs with a 5% body fat. this change has taken place over about 4 or 5 months with not so regular workouts.

edit: get a scale that calculates body fat %. it will help out when trying to figure out your gains and losses. muscle adds on weight. and by reading what you do. i'm sure you've gained a good bit of muscle. don't ever worry too much about weight if you're very active and look fit.
