  1. No please avoid using all these powder and liquid adjusters.  You have to realize that shifting your Ph is very shocking and stresses your fish.  You are actually better off leaving it be and letting it be stable.  The Ick treatment might have effected it, but I doubt that.  A PH to go up is not usual.  A PH going down is something that makes more sense.  In order for it to go up, I would imagine it's something you added.  Generally this is adjusting your hardness.  Adding in hardness will in turn increase your PH.  If you are to alter your PH, this is your best option to do so, by lowering your hardness.

Adding driftwood and allowing it to leech tannins into the water is one way to do this, but it's slow.  I think before I touch into other aspects you can do, I'd like to know what your GH and KH readings are.  I really think for the time being, let it be though.  Let's explore how to lower it by attacking the hardness instead, gradually lower it.  Consider this too.  The PH scale is a logarithmic scale, meaning every change in tenth of a point is a ten times factor.  PH 7.1 is ten times more basic then PH 7.0.  Shifting that PH over a large scale is going to put shock into your fish.

  2. there is actually some drops you can get for your tank that lowers ph just like u can get drops that raise it? just dont have ur ph over 8.2 for saltwater i dont know about fresh.

  3. Well i used muriatic acid but i wouldn't do that if you already have fish.

    Try pH bounce from API

  4. Any sudden large changes in pH will do more harm than good.  Change about 25% of your tank volume.  Tomorrow, check your pH.  If it's still high, change another 10%.  Continue with 10% water changes each day until pH is back to normal range.  Any ideas on what may have caused the spike?
