if you have tools and the experience  you can port the cyl . advance timing. jet carb .  all kinds tricks to make more power lower end or upper end?

If you want to go faster on your MX machine, improve the suspension.  

Biggest mistake made by novice off-road riders is to improve the horsepower.  That makes the bike even harder to ride.  

Keeping your wheels on the ground with the engine churning and burning is the secret of going faster.

So unless you are a semi-pro rider, work on the suspension and your riding skills first.  

If you NEED more power, you are a very skilled rider and this would be the last place to ask this type of question.

Beef up the engine, bore out the cylinder head, replace the reef with high performance type, re jet the carb, performance exhaust pipe, and of course the gears (sprockets).  Any money left?  Replace the stock handle bar with light weight Rental.  Uses higher octane fuel and of course, do some work out and loose some of the rider weight.

by changing the gearing. that is the only way to make it faster.  higher gearing, smaller back sprocket or larger front sprocket. now if you want to make it more powerful you can add a better exhaust, carbon reeds, new intake, raise the compression by having the head milled down. bigger carb or re jet the one you got. all the will give you more power but wont make the top speed any faster.

ya power is better then speed. just a pipe on it will make it way better, but if you put a pipe on you gotta rejet it, which isnt hard, and get a good air filter and itll be fast! and also reeds work good to, go through top end faster i found out but yaa more power
