  1. Here is a great one that tastes so good, you'll never know it's healthy:

    1 cup non-fat vanilla frozen yogurt

    1/2 cup skim milk

    1 individual packet (or a tblsp or two if you have a cannister) of gourmet hot chocolate powder

    2 tsps espresso coffee grounds

    Give it a few pulses in the blender and enjoy

    (measurements are approximations; I usually just eyeball it.)

    It's a really refreshing morning alternative to a cup of coffee  loaded with cream and sugar.


  2. I used to work in a smoothie bar...here's a few of the most popular...

    1.frozen mixed berries & fresh orange juice.

    2.apple, frozen/fresh raspberries & plain yoghurt.

    3.banana, strawberries, mango, youghurt

    add crushed ice if you want them to be colder.

    to be honest you can make smoothies out of anything... just experiment with different combinations and quantities and see which flavours you like.

  3. The wonderful of making smoothies at home is the possibilities are limitless.

    Keep fruit in your freezer, cut up if large, and in little baggies is handy - for instance, if strawberries are on sale and you've used up the perfect looking ones for recipes that call for whole perfect looking strawberries, trim the ones that aren't so perfect anymore, lay them all on a cookie sheet in your freezer flat in one single layer, and when they are frozen solid, put them in ziploc baggies (this way they are IQF- individually frozen and when you need a handful for your smoothie, you just take what you need and leave the rest for future use).

    Bananas for instance, when they start to go brown and you would otherwise throw them out, or if the older ones are in the cheap shelf at the store, toss them in the freezer (you can freeze them peeled already but they freeze better in the peel).  Same goes for any kinds of berries, apples, mangoes, whatever fruit you like and when it's on sale at the market is when you bring it home, rinse it if necessary, and then freeze it.

    This way you can just toss the mixture of what you want in your blender along with plain yogurt (you don't need sweetened/fruit yogurt), and crushed or small ice cubes, if desired. Turn on the blender and there you go. This is just the base. You can also sneak in other things like ground of nuts, seeds, flax seeds, protein powder, other things if you're looking to make it a super power smoothie. These things you don't need a lot of to get benefit from and mixed in ground up you won't even notice them (if you're concerned about taste).

    Like I said, options are only limited by your imagination.

    Of course if you're not going for health benefits of smoothies (smoothies are great for breakfast if you don't have time for a full bacon egg or whatever else breakie and will power you for several hours) you could probably make them with ice cream or frozen yogurt as well.

    If you're using frozen fruit you don't need ice. I love making smoothies- I do love my morning eggs etc breakie, but don't always have the time, so my smoothies are not only yummy but healthy and provide energy for several hours.

    Orange Julliass

    3/4 cup of concentrated orange juice

    1 cup of water

    1 cup of milk

    12 ice cubes

    2 table spoons of white sugarc

    mix it all in the blender on icecrush then on liftley or whatever and share\\

    Stwarberry banna smoothie

    1 small individual strawberry yugurt

    half a banna

    a bunch of stwarberrys

    7 ice cubes

    2 cups of milk

    mix all the ingredients in blender

    the flavored cream are used in smoothie shops

    like the strawberry cream thingy (they're the ones in milk cartons)

    1 frozen banana and a few frozen strawberries.

    some strawberry banana yogurt

    a tad of pineapple juice

    some orange juice

    and just a pinch of sugar

    mis up in blender makes a very good smoothie.ENJOY!!
