How can i make a national day?

can i make a national day for something, like for animals? a national animal day would be cool and could raise money to give to animal charities and stuff, we could even raise money for crappy animals like the dogs paris hilton has.

But how do i make it official?

does anyone know?

First, make sure there isn't *already* one. Check with the national offices of the ASPCA and the Humane Society to make sure there isn't already such a day, and if there is, then think of ways you can promote such through local animal-focused organizations.

If there is not such a day, you need to garner support for such first, with endorsements from various animal-focused organizations. Once you have these endorsements -- and it will take a LOT of work to get such -- you can approach your national legislator(s) to see if he/she/they will sponsor such.
