How can i make acoustic drums quieter?

I do not yet play drums, but am wanting to start. I want an acoustic set,not an electronic one. What can i do to make them quiter so that i don't disturb my neighbors?

Just play them lighter. You will still get the good quality, but won't disturb anyone.

Your local music store or online site has silencing pads (practise pads) or kits you can use to make acoustic drums quieter.

Use lighter sticks. with softer plastic tips.

You can also put towels or blankets inside the drums.

I doubt if either will please your neigbors.
