How can i make an adapter cable to produce 3.0vdc from the powerport in my automobile

i want to use my cd player in my car and need an adapter for it.

i am pretty good with electronics,so nothing will be too extravegent

Depending on your current requirements pick a good 3 volt Regulator.

Basically a three terminal device with input, output and ground.

12 volt dc in, will get you 3.0 volts dc out.
