How can i make fake grease stains?

i need to make fake grease stains for a costume any sugestions? (i dont want to use real grease cuz it smells)

hair dye or india ink.  If you put on rubber gloves first, you can even smear them on your hands, then onto the shirt for an authentic look.

Eye liner would smudge like grease and it doesn't smell, but you'd have to be careful of transferring it onto clothes you don't want it on.

use a cream eye shadow - you can make the stain any color you want - you can apply it with the same little brush you would use on your eye lids-

make up usually has a pleasant odor also.

If you don't need to be able to wash it, a little smear of vaseline would work. If you do need to be able to wash it, you'll need to do it with paint or dye.

Vegetable oil for clear grease stains, or take some acrylic paint and dilute it with water for black stains.
