These days, there are literally dozens of PC-Phone VoIP services that allow calling from PC VoIP to PSTN land or mobile phones.

But, for free.... only new start-ups and services still in beta development phase usually offer "limited" free calling - obviously in an effort to gain a customer base.

There are other services that plaster free all over the place, but either require you to pay money upfront first or some other hidden strings attached....

EarthCaller (and Jaduka) are currently in beta development, and is "currently", truly free for calls to USA/Canada, but not "to" India:
