  1. practice BIG book

  2. They're is little one can really do improve his or her own Verbal ability other than be well read. There are sets of vocab you can practice, but unless your memory is supreb there is is no way you can memorize 500+ words for only 3 or 4 words that may or may not appear on the test. I would say just be familiar with the types of questions on the verbal.

The Quantitative section is easy to prep for because is simply a test from Algebra 2 and Geometry. I am not a math guy. I did fine in high school and college math, but I would not consider myself skilled in math by any measure. I used the Princeton Review book for this section and my score improved 150 points on the actual GRE from a computer based practice test with no prep in only 5 days. I found the strategies in the book easy to understand and use, and they were probably the deciding factor in my 700 score.

    Analytical section, just practice writing.

There really is no easy way to study for the GRE. Honestly, these are the skills and knowledge one should have developed over the course of undergraduate study. Polishing these skills is fine, but if they are there to begin with in order to do well on the GRE.

Making the material easier isn't really going to happen, but if you give yourself enough time between when you are going to take it and start studying, it takes off a bit of the pressure and anxiety.

  3. Read abstracts of scientific journals and break down each sentences to see how they summarize the whole paper. Do it in writing and not just reading.

    Good luck
