  1. it is called income, ya know you build up a client list. And you collect from each one a percentage just like your boss.

  2. Sell more insurance.  What you make, and what your boss makes, are two different things.  Presumably, you make 50% of the commission for what you sell.  How do you make money?  Sell more.

  3. In any line of work, if you're boss doesn't make money off of what you do, it's either called "fired" or "self-employed".

    Good luck

  4. insurance agents are paid a commission, usually the commission is divided up between the agency/office and the actual selling agent. If you work for a large company like New York Life you would receive a lower commission than you would if you were an independent agent. The lower commission helps pay for all the benefits you receive as an agent for a large company.

  5. You could also  start a home business and earn extra tax discounts while earning additional commission!  It's something to think about if you want to make more money.
