How can i make my TV reception better?

Question

I have antenna TV hooked up to my digital converter box. I took out the antenna and replaced it with a phone cord, stripping the wires and twisting the copper from both sides into the positive and negative side of the cable connector. I finally attached into the TV in of the digital converter box. It's a lot clearer, but it still pixelates "digitally" sometimes on some channels.

The pixelation is due to weak signal.
