hi.im a new time mommy well my baby has happen to have a lot of air in her little tummy brakes my heart..... I took her to the Dr gave me gas drops don't really help. and well she poops like one day and takes forever to go again the Formula i use for her is Gentlease (Enfamil) she has a lot of gas so we used that... but now that she has air she wont want it half the time... and her p**p takes forever....

Dr says that the soy might help her because of her p**p and she might not like the stuff in her milk right now....

what do you think would work better for a baby that has air in her tummy... we tryed gas drops but still no burp...

we are also using gripe water and it helps her juts fine but still wont burp it just lets her sleep good and soothes her tummy but still no burp and takes forever to p**p....

:( Help how to make her burp ...

  1. try sitting her on your knees with your and under her chin to support her neck and patting her back with your other hand starting at the bottom of her back going upwards if your hand gets tired rub her back upwards in that position still may help move the air bubble up

  2. my mom used to lay my baby brothers over her lap like on their tum tums and pat their back lightly idk it was kinda cool because they always burped. so whenever i watched them i tried it and it works..

  3. Maybe you need to change the bottle the Dr Brown and the playtex

drop-ins are good to reduce gas intake and they are BPA-free as well.

Now if you look at it closely she might be lactose intolerant i think that the reason why your doc might have say to use soy. My baby start pooping fine with soy milk cuz she had bad gasses at the beginning and i change her bottle and the formula it works like a charm. Try to change the bottle and if there is no change definitively change the formula. To burp her as she is still small it might take longer than you expect try to put her kind of sitting on your lap and tab her back gently  if it do not work put her on your shoulder and massage gently her back.

    Best wishes!!!

  4. My son was like that until about two and a half months.  But it never bothered him in the lest.  Boy would he f**t up a storm though.  It did make him eat only about 2ox at a time until about 4 and a half months most of the day.  Thankfully now he is totally over it.  You are doing all you can, give it time, it will get better :)

  5. diggs76 is right on. You can also try sitting your baby up and down. Gas rises, and this gentle movement can help get the gas up. I also used the position like CPR...place baby upside down on your forearm, with her head cradled by her chin. Then pat her back. This may or may not help with gas relief (it did for mine), but the pressure on her tummy will feel better.

As for gas relief drops, you can use those quite often. Very often in fact. Maybe because she has so much gas, she is not getting enough drops.

Pooping....try glycerin suppositories. This will help.

  6. My daughter had the same problem cept shes B/F. I used gas drops as the directions said and got no relief so i give her .4 of a ml every hour and she had had no problem bringing up wind since.

Hope this helps,it may take a day or to work tho.

And ive asked a pharmacist about it and he said its fine as wind drops dont have any ingredients that babies can od on .

  7. try putting the baby over the shoulder and very gently massage the back upwards to displace the air...........slightly rub along the spine after each feed do not give her any medicines as yet

  8. My daughter is 4 weeks. After about an ounce of breast milk or formula- I burp her and then continue to feed her the rest...Sometimes it takes about 10 minutes for mine to burp- but I don't stop patting her back and giving her the rest of her food until she does. And remember- you don't have to be extra gentle when patting her back..You can be somewhat forceful..They can handle it..And try patting the lower part of her back rather than the top- if you aren't already..Good Luck!

  9. Are you also asking if you should use the Gentlease or switch to a soy formula? If so - I think you should definately try switching to soy. So many gas/spit-up problems babies have are from milk based formulas.

And the only way I could ever get my 2 daughters to burp was to sit them up. I would just drape the burp rag on them and sit them up on my lap and hang out awhile until they let one rip :)

  10. You are doing all that you can, keep trying and as your baby gets older this won't be a problem.  You can try to switch formulas but this might cause a bit more gas for a while until she settles.  Try tummy massage too, and left her legs to her tummy over and over again for a while to see if that helps.
