but nothing that can harm anything and not chopping onions. This is for a school play so they have to start watering fairly quickly.

  1. umm...jab ur self in the eye with your finger or a pencil!!

i would suggest a very sharp pencil...

  2. Think of something really sad. That is what the actors do.

  3. keep your eyes open for a while or just use eye drops

  4. try Vicks Vapor Rub or Carmex (the lip-treatment stuff) under your eyes. Vicks should do it though.

  5. In real life when you are about to cry, do you really just "let it flow" or do you fight back the tears? Most people usually do the latter. Honestly, I think it's more effective for the actor to show they are fighting back the waterworks rather than full fledged crying. And also, some people just don't have the physical capacity to cry on command. And please, Please, PLEASE... DO NOT let the emotion of the scene overwhelm you. Many actors use a method called "emotion memory" or "emotional recall." This involved thinking of a situation similar to the character's situation or an event that evoked the same emotions as the character's. You then substitute this memory into the action of the play and whenever you come to that part of the script, the emotion called for is evoked by your memory. You just have to be careful with this because many times actors will choose a memory that is too vivid or difficult to deal with. Acting IS NOT THERAPY! Pick a memory that you have dealt with, preferably an older one. This is also a great "trick" for crying on stage. It's also a lot more natural this way.

    BEST WISHES!!!

  6. stop blinking.
