Question:

How can i make my forehand swing faster?

i have 90 percent of the tennis form down. Thats not the answer im looking for. I mean what can make my arm swing faster by itself? Like if i wanted to swing without any form whatsoever, how could i develop my swing so it gets faster? just practice? or would i need to get stronger?

  1. what i do is stay lower and make sure you are moving forward during ur shot.  staying balanced and try not to think about hitting hard. think of accelerating the racquet head speed.  


  2. i think improving flexibility is more important then getting stronger if you want a faster swing

  3. Stand on your feet facing the net, turn your torso 90 degree to the right (if you're right hander). Your swinging racket should be behind you. When the ball approach, quickly uncoil your torso and your racket should snap at the ball very hard and fast. Your follow through should wrap the racket around your shoulder, but your face should still be facing the net.

  4. try swinging your racket with its cover still on. do this a lot of times till its easy to swing your racket with a cover on. when you play, you'll feel that the racket is now way lighter than before. maybe you'll have a little problem with control cause of the sudden power you get but its easy to adjust.

  5. u need a faster muscle twich.. u have to lift weights.. so higher reps one week.. and then lower reps the next..

    u should also try and hit the ball earlier...

  6. You have to bring your arm back for speed and hold on the the racket, swing and follow through, try doing it with heavier rackets and then come back to your original one.

  7. You could try a more aerodynamic racquet like a Prince Speedport racquet.  You could also add some lead weight to the head of your racquet (making it more head-heavy).  Claiming to have 90% of tennis form down is a pretty bold claim.  If your form is that good, I suggest you work on your strength, stamina, and footwork.  Lift weights, run, and swim. In terms of tennis, work on placement and strategy.  Play as many matches as possible, too. Another thing to work on, is your humility.  Good luck!
