How can i make my freshman year go by fast?

i have a girlfrien in sandiego and i live in kansas city and my school year just started how can i make my school year go by fast

Nice city to live in, Kansas City.  Be sure to go to Plaza, Gate's BarBQ, and also Bryants on Brooklyn.

You can make the year go by faster by staying busy.  Get a part-time job, so you can earn money to travel back to SD next summer.

You can still talk to your gf on the IM, internet.  

Join a school club, go out for sports, that will keep you both busy and gain some new friends too.

Are we talking freshman in high school or college?

Enjoy your year and cherish everything about it. Get involved, do as many activities as possible. Not only because it will make time fly, but because it will be a great experience for you. If this girl is someone you really want to spend some time with, the time apart will make you grow stronger. BUT speaking from experience, don't dwell on missing the person. Allow yourself some time in the evening to miss the person, don't let it overwhelm you. The more you let yourself be depressed about not seeing her, the slower your time will go.

Stay busy. Put a lot of effort into schoolwork- doing things on time or quickly and doing them well. This will give you extra time for your hobbies. I don't know if you have any hobbies but most people do. You can probably get a work permit or something and start working someplace locally after school and on the weekends. Work really, really makes the time go by quickly, especially when you're in school. That way you can save up enough to visit her/get her a present or two, etc.

If you are into sports, try out for a team or two. If you are interested in any clubs, you should join them or at least go to a meeting, as that will help you get into college if that is a goal of yours.

The main point is to keep busy.
