Are there certain insects i can put in my soil to enrich the soil and help my plants grow?

  1. Blood meal and regular composting.  Grass clippings and leaves turned under are excellent (as long as the leaves aren't coming from a diseased plant.)


  2. Not necessarily insects, but earth worms are good. Their p**p is a good fertilizer and they loosen the soil for the roots. Another thing that is good is to use good compost (rotted leaves and/or grass) mixed in the soil.

  3. Composting is wonderful.  Other things you can add are dehydrated cow manure, leaf mulch, peat moss (with caution, too much creates problems).  Dehydrated cow manure can be added in the spring, leaf mulch and peat moss are better added in the fall so they have a chance to rot up in the soil over the winter.  Adding the right stuff to your soil will encourage the good insects to come and live.  They want to live in a "nice" home just like we do!
