First of all, I must say I love this hairstyle! I have been styling it on my boyfriend for months.  

First, start with slightly damp hair.  Next, take a quarter size amount of super stiff styling gel (I use garnier fructis style) and rub your palms together to activate the gel fibers.  Then carefully work gel from tips of hair to roots of hair.  Make sure it is even. All the while work peices of hair into sections and raise upward.

I know this might sound like a lot of work but it really only takes a few minutes.  Then spray a max hold hairspray onto your hair (just a mist will do) and work the hair to a spike.  The key is to not handle the hair too much, but work quickly before the spray drys.  If you would like more peice-ee-ness to the style, take a hair pomade and put a dab on fingertips, and work upward into tiny sections of hair.  Respray with hairspray and you should be good to go.   All products can be found at wal-mart.  I recommend trying this a few times before you actually get the hang of it.  

**Depending on the type of hair you have, you'll have to experiment to see what the right amount of product you put in your hair is.

Print the photo and take it to your hairdresser so that it can be cut in this style. If you already have the cut, then it's easy. Buy some hair wax~ use a very small amount~ less than a pea size and rub it between your palms and apply to your hair giving it a messy look!

well if youre brunette you dye it blonde on the top but i'd get a professional to do that.

with the spikeyness, get some gell and spread it through the top part, and then use a comb/or fingers to get the spikey look, just play around with it.
