How can i make my mare's mane grow?

Question

i just got her about a month ago, she is a quarter horse/morgan mix, around 16 years old. she used to be a barrel racer, so imagine they used to keep her mane really short.

you can see it kinda.

at the end of her mane, most of it is gone.

she is boarded at my uncles house, so i only get to see her on the weekend, and my uncle is very busy, so he doesnt have enough time to thoroughly brush out her mane.

we house sit his house when he leaves, so when we house sit next time, ill be able to spend all the time with her.

but for now, what can i do to help her make her mane grown longer?

the vo5 works well.  also, you could massage the mane, to encourage growth.  you could add some biotin to her feed, as well.  braiding helps, and so does those slinky hood things.

I personally believe the best way to do it is brush it everyday before and after yoiu ride and even if you don't ride!  Hoped I helped!:)

The BEST stuff I use on my gelding who rips his out on the fence is mtg, or a mixture of ucaliptic leaves, lavender oil, and pepermint oil. I noe it sounds disturbig but they work. The other thing, my friends horse had the same problem. She buzzed it to a crop and let it grow out. It grew out LONG AND THICK! it is so beautiful.

I know this may sound weird, but I am telling you it works! Once a week treat her mane and tail, if u choose, with Vo5 hot oil treatments. It will still take some time for the hair to grow, but if u keep up on doing it, it will grow faster and healthier. I used this on my horse during showing season, with great results. I checked with my vet first also and he said it shouldn't harm her in any way, which it didn't. It also made her mane and tail extra smooth, strong, and helped at keeping it from tangling and knotting.
