  1. 1 print pics of it and then put them on your walls

2 do more chores when not asked to do

3 suprise them with breakfast in bed e-mail me and i can tell you how

4 every morning draw a card that says luv u oh and draw rats on it

5 walk around like your a rat

all i can think of sorry

  2. Do lots of research on rats, and once you know enough, sit her down and tell her all the good things about rats. If you're well informed, she's more likely to listen. Make sure she's in  a good mood first.

While you're researching, be very nice to her and do chores that she didn't ask you to do.  However, if she REALLY doesn't want another animal, you can't help it.

  3. You can't make your mom let you get a rat, but you can try to change her mind. First, ask your mom calmly why you can't have a rat, she might have a good reason. Second, do some research on pet rats so your mom knows you are really thinking this through. My son had rats when he was younger and I thought they were much smarter and more personable than my daughter's hamster. Third, be on your best behavior and hopefully you will be rewarded with a rat.

  4. LOL "walk around like a rat" HAhaha!!!!

  5. offer to pay for half of it.

  6. Have you carefully researched rat care? Rats are social animals and need to be housed in groups of two or more. No rat should ever be housed alone. This is like putting a human in solitary confinement.  It doesn't matter how much time you feel you can devote to a rat, it won't be enough. Nothing can take the place of another rat that can be with them 24 hours a day.

Rats are quite costly.  Cages can range from $75-$200 with the more expensive cages being the best (more often that not).  Hamsters don't need the same size cage as rats do. Rats need large cages that are as big as ferret cages with ramps and levels.  Rats are not like hamsters and need regular vet visits for wellness checkups.  Rats should see a vet every six months.  This can be costly.  Some vets will charge $50 just to see your rat (and each rat thereafter will cost the same or slightly less).  Rats are also prone to tumors and respiratory infections which will need treatment.  Tumor removal can be in the $400 range (some vets charge more and others far less depending on the area).

If you can afford two rats, cages and vet expenses, they are wonderful pets to have!  Your mother may not be inclined to get a rat as they have tails that give most people the heebie geebies.  Get her a rat care book that explains rats in a light she might not have thought about before.  Perhaps let he know that rats can be litter trained and can be trained to do small tricks.  Rats do smell though which is something she may not like knowing but should know before thinking about getting them.  Regular cage cleaning, although a pain, is necessary to keep the smell to a minimum.

    Good luck to you!

    =)

  7. If your mom doesn't want a rat in the house, you can't "make" her get you one - her house, her rules.

  8. Well, first of all you need two rats not one. They're social animals who get very lonely when left alone without a playmate. They love to wrestle and play together! Tell her they do make spectacular pets, and they are nothing like the gross 'sewer rats' she may not like. They're as intelligent as dogs, and very lovable. They bond well with their owners and can learn many tricks. They truly do make exceptional pets.
