I have a 12 year old English Springer Spaniel and lately shes been getting more and more tired. I feel sorry for her because in the last week or so after taking her for a couple walks shes gotten a limp in her front right leg. I don't want to make her tired and get hurt but she loves walking. So what can i do?

  1. Put her on a joint supplement called Cosequin.

  2. Shorten your walks and slow down the pace she is getting old and that is what happens to us all. Most of all be understanding of her situation. She wants to run and jump and play like days of old but her body will not let that happen.

  3. Patrick, I like the look of a english springer spaniel. They are so cute.

  4. i think u should just keep walking her so it stretches her muscles. then later u could start running with her. just keep her working but if something starts to look really bad then of course stop. good luck.

  5. my 12 year old rottweiler has arthritis and used to limp allllll the time but the vet said to get her a glucosamine and chondroitin pill to help, so i got it and it works AMAZINGLY!!!!!! my dog can even run now and she is perfectly fine! She used to have trouble even standing up from laying down and now she has so much more energy! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you get your dog some glucosamine pills! Glucosamine isn't a medicine, i think it's something similar to calcium. Like if your body doesn't get enough calcium, you can take calcium pills. If your joints hurt and you need more glucosamine, take glucosamine pills to help. I promise these pills saved my dog's life! My parents wanted to put my dog to sleep because she couldn't get up without her legs shaking and her limping but now she is better than ever! I am sooooooo grateful for those pills! I really hope you get some for your dog because they helped my dog so much! People can use glucosamine pills too-my dad uses them for his knees. You should probably take it easy for a while with your dog for a little while, like just go for short walks. But you should keep her moving to keep her muscles stretched and flexible. Just don't work her so hard she gets too tired. But anyways, they sell glucosamine and chondroitin pills at walmart and they have TONS of different kinds for dogs. JUST TRY IT because they do help! My dog would be dead right now if we didn't get those pills for her because my parents would have wanted to put her to sleep. Since we got her those pills, my dog has gotten SO MUCH better. Good luck with your dog!! :)
