How can i make my photo to be in GIF or JPG format?

I saved my photo off of my verizon pixplace site and i think it is in JPEG format because it wont let me upload it to my myspace photos, how can i make it into their required GIF or JPG format?

Open it with a 'photo' program like PhotoShop, if you can. Once there you can choose which format you would like to have the image saved in.
