How can i make my room look cool?

I`ve just moved into a college dorm, i have my own room and i want to know how i can make it into a cool college room, any ideas?

If you don't have a big budget just buy a few colorful pieces. Like a colorful rug. Maybe a new floor lamp. Get some book cases and if you have a little more $$$ buy a comfy couch or chair. Also get some little accessories like photograph frames or storage boxes. Use stuff unexpectedly. I have an electric guitar and I use the stand as a jewelry holder.
