  1. i would get about 6-10 neon tetras since theyre schooling fish. get some zebra danios if you wish to but theyre also schooling fish but easy to take care of. to make your tank more brighter and more eye catching use a bubbly wall or circle airstone and a backround. also you can use blue gravel to make your tank more luminous. also get some angel fishes or mollies for a modernish type of tank. goodluck!!! =D

  2. If you get 5-10 neons they will school around your tank through the decorations and look really nice.  Live plants always make a tank look nicer, along with rock formations and drift wood.  If you are sticking with south a south American tank you can get some Amazon Sword plants.

As far as fish is concerned you can get some Grouramis or a few Angels (even though they can be a little aggressive) and I think it will look nice.

Also a nice looking background can liven things up a bit.

    Good luck

  3. first off congo tetras are fin nippers ,well yeah they are community but none the less fin nippers, so no betta,5 neons would be great but no smaller then that, or they will die off ,i recommend you get a upside down catfish they swim mostly upside down ,an only get 3 inches,so yeah 5 neons an upisde down an to make your tank look better like natural gravel ,no blue, pink green or red, or yellow lol,an flower pots that you can get for 80 cents make the tank look nice an natural

  4. I recently got a 45G tank for my birthday, and the man we got it from had a blacklight and a flourescent bulb in the hood for the tank so you could try and put those in the hood of your tank and it produces amazing color it the tank. I don't even have fish yet but It's a sight for sore eyes.
