  1. That really depends on the type of serve you want to make better. If you are referring to a regular over hand floater or top spin serve then for right handers I suggest the following. Stand near the end line of the court - maybe between 3-4 back. Your feet should be about shoulder width or less apart like you are standing in mid stride of a walk. Left foot out in front. Next hold the ball in your left hand extended out in front of you and most importantly in-lin with your hitting shoulder. You should be able to look over the top of the ball and see the opposing side of the court. Next is the toss - don't drop your arm too far - the ball is light and it only has to go up just slightly further than you would extend your hitting arm on a high reach. To test the toss - let it fall a couple of times in practice. The ball should fall to the right and slightly in front of your left foot. Next I suggest that your hitting arm already be extended in a 90 degree position out to the side of your shoulder but others suggest tdrawing your arm back like you are pulling a bow string on a bow and arrow. For me it's about minimizing movement and therefore mistakes. Either way extend you arm up and contact the ball with a full hand and slight snap of the wrist for top spin or let your hand "pop" through the middle of the ball for a floater. On that extension you should be stepping with your right foot towards the ball to add power and distance. With the top spin you will want a littl emore follow through than the floater but both have a follow through. Speed is usually the key here - the faster the swing the farther the ball goes. adjust your starting point accordingly. Also note - where the toes on your left foot point and the index and middle fingers of your right hand point is generally where the ball will go. Hope that helps.

  2. well if under hand..... put all your weight on your back foot while swinging your arm towards the ball put your weight towards your front foot. remember to go a little low to make the ball go over the net

over hand when throwing he ball in the air make the ball rotate so you dont have to hit the ball as hard

    hope i helped good luck!!!!

  3. Make sure that when you are serving, you are tossing the ball in front of you and high enough. This enables you to reach forward for the ball, making you taking a step, and reach up for the ball, keeping you from dropping your elbow. When you drop your elbow, you have a tendency to push the ball up, giving you more up and not enough distance or strength!

    Hope this helps!

  4. - Pickup a couple videos on serving techniques

    - Get a coach the can work with you

    - Lots of practice

Personally I try to put a bit of down spin on it but never had much success with the "jump" serve you see at the higher game levels.

  5. there are two important parts to serving; toss, and swing.  improve your swing by hitting a ball against the wall and improve your toss by tossing the ball above your head and letting it hit the floor if it lands in between your feet then its a good toss. you might also try make your swing faster it helps propel the ball. my serve used to be terrible but then my coach told me i should start serving floaters you do this by bending your fingers off the ball as you hit it, the ball will curve or make a zig zag pattern and drops fast which makes it difficult to pass. i turn sideways when i serve and i serve floaters and now im one of the top ace scorers on my team.

  6. ohh..dont worry i had the same problem...if your doing overhand serve start off real close to the net...then start serving there once u get it over the net a coulple of times move back do the same...if u dont get over the net as much move up again....that worked for me

  7. throw the ball up high directly in front of you take one step foward and hit the ball staright on
