You could start by visiting your local town hall and find out who is the most influential politician in the community.  You could start by writing a letter to them and find out thewir stance on your cause.  If they don't want poker to be legal then find a politician in your community who does and rally behind them.  When it comes to politics for a state your best bet is to deal with the local or smaller politicians in your area, because they are most likely the most accessible.  Their goal is to move up in ranks in the political arena so they would support the views of the majority of people that would vote for them...if the case were that a lot of people wanted poker to be legl than a politician would benefit from helping them make it happen...
