What you should REALLY do is check in your area for manufacturers or distributors of products. For example: lets say there is a company around the corner from you that manufactures or distributes widgets. They make them and then sell them to stores. They sell them for 5$ to the stores and the stores sell them for 50$. This company has a wharehouse full of widgets and never runs out of stock. You go and see them and make arrangements to buy from them as an indivdual or as a store (depending on their policy) and then you put the widgets on eBay for 25$. You undercut the stores and still make 20$ profit. Of course this is provided that there are people looking for widgets. This is the best way of making money on eBay since you do not need to keep inventory, and need not make any initial investment. You simply buy the items from the company as you sell them on eBay. Some companies will even do drop shipping for you.

You need to look for stuff around your home that you don't use anymore. Find out how much you can sell it for. Check how much it will cost to ship. You can sell anything on eBay. I'm selling my vehicles old headlamps since I decided to replace them. I have also sold books. You may  have a chance on selling your old phone.
