  1. although those basics are important you really need to focus on...

    calling

how well you can work with others

    and no complaining

coaches tend to look for those who really want it, talent comes next.

  2. One thing at a time.

    Overhand serves:

If you are a righty - hold the ball in your left hand and toss it a little bit above your right shoulder. Take a step with your left foot, or right and then left, depending on which is comfortable, and hit the ball with an open hand right under the ball.

If you are a lefty - (Like me) Hold the ball in your right hand and toss it a little above your left shoulder. Take a step with your right foot, and hit the ball with an open hand, right under the ball.

    Passing: (Bumping)

Put your right hand over your left hand and kind of close your hands together with your thumbs next to each other. Point your hands down so your "platform" (Your arms) are straight. Then pass the ball. Try passing against the wall for extra practice at home. (It should look like this: http://www.usma.edu/dpe/courses/Volleyba...

    Setting:

    1. Extend your arms up over your head, then tilt them forward slightly and bend your elbows so your hands are about 6 inches above your head.. Spread your fingers as you are doing this.

    2. Position your hands properly. Form a diamond shape using your thumbs and pointer fingers on both hands, but make sure that your thumbs are about an inch apart.

    3. Spread your feet about shoulder width apart. You may want to place one foot (usually your dominant foot) in front for balance. Bend your knees so that when the ball comes to you, you can quickly bounce up and get it.

    4. When you are ready to set, center yourself under the ball, and push upwards, straightening your arms and legs as you go.

Make sure to only touch the ball with your fingertips, not your palms

    (Setting from wikihow)

And you can't just build muscle in 4 days. But you can try doing push ups, crunches, wall sits, and running.

  3. well, those are the basics of volleyball.

so go buy yourself a volleyball,

and bump & set to yourself.

see if you could get a friend to go to

a volleyball net with you & practice.

I would say start running a few laps but

since you dont have much time left,

    focus on your core skills,

such as bumping, setting, serving, &spiking.

  4. You can't learn the game of volleyball in 3-4 days.  Sorry.

Some people have taken years to master the game.  If you can't overhand serve, don't think you'll do it by Friday.  If you have to build more muscle, forget it by Friday.

Passing better?  Just concentrate.  See the ball all the way to your arms and then back out.  Concentrate on passing foundation.  Keep your knees bent and push with your legs, not too much swinging.

"Lead your pass".  That is, don't swing on the ball but instead, push with your legs and guide your arms to the target.

That's all I can really tell you because you only have a couple of days.

  5. start out as manager and prac. with the team until you can build muscle and skill...trust me...

  6. Do you want to hit a perfect serve? here is how:

find a net or wall to serve at.

position yourself at a 45degree angle to the net or wall

practice tossing th e ball high enough to hit while your arm is fully extended.

Swing straight through and put in the step. when finished with one serve you should be facing the directly at the wall.

one more thing: don't hit the nozzel area,, it HURTS!!!

  7. I was just at this volleyball clinic/camp thing yesterday to help out the girls who are gonna be freshmen next year. I'm already on the team, so the players had to volunteer and stuff. I saw almost 100% of the girls swinging their arms not at the target but at like somewhere else. They also tend to toss the balls not high enough, but sort of behind their head and really low and like spike it on the ground instead of hitting OVER it! It was really difficult to teach those girls! I suggest that you have a direct touch with the palm of your hand. Toss the ball high and push the ball.
