im eighteen and sadly amongest my friends im the only registered voter. I can wait to put my say into our goverment, finally have a say in what our country may stand for. None of my friends find the point of voting or particularly care about politics or what happens in Nov 2008. I really want them to vote, what can i do to get them excited or interested in voting? The children are the future so whats the future that lies ahead if no one cares?

  1. I know a college grad, with a masters.

He knows absolutely nothing about politics.

    His entire world is sports.

    Sports, sports, sports.

Like Michael Savage said,,,,Sports is entertainment for the stupid.

  2. Take half of their summer job money flush it down the toilet in front of them.

  3. Have a registration Keg Party.  Gotta register and then can participate.  Oh, sorry, you're not 21 yet and the drinking age is still 18.  Well, perhaps it can be a cocacola party.

  4. Your delimma is as old as time.  Young adults are not usually ready for the responsibility that goes along with voting.  They would rather use all of their spare time partying.  I do remember those days.  You can't make someone want to vote...they have to mature enough to really care about their country and it's future.  Be patient, but in the meantime, you will only run them off if you continue to badger them into doing what they aren't prepared to do.

  5. Tell em since they is young they should vote fer change. Obama gives poor people free money. Its free cuz its taken for those rich gready republikan b******s.

  6. Personally, I would sit down and think about every negative thing that happened to the nation as a whole and write it down.  I'm sure that every one of your friends has complained about high gas prices, or has a friend or family member in Iraq, or has a problem with taxes etc.

Talk to your friends about those topics and then ask them what are they going to do about it.

They have a choice in the matter and voting lets them exercise that choice (h**l, that right).

  7. Don't worry about it. Youth has never shown at the polls. The best showing of the youth vote is right around 16%. It simply takes a greater deal of living in the real world to appreciate the need to snuff out socialism.

  8. Tell them plainly that if McCain is elected they will have four more years of Bush policies to look forward to including more war, a failing economy, higher debt for the future, a general decline of the country and an administration that doesn't care about the people.  Their futures are in jeopardy. Their votes could make a difference. If that doesn't motivate them then they're not worthy of your additional time and effort.
