Question:

How can i manage a 6yr old child who doesn't to write in school and at home?

he is good in orals (spelling and reading) but when it comes to copying and answering assignments that needs to be written he refuses and says he is tired and doesn't like to write.

  1. I posted in your other question, but wanted to add to my answer. Another way my mother got me writing more was to play something we called the "letter game" with me. We would take turns. One of us would draw a letter... B for example, and then the other would try to draw a picture with that letter... Perhaps turning B into a butterfly, or A into an ice cream cone. Then when I was in school writing as I printed each letter I imagined in my head what I might turn that letter into the next time I played the game. It made writing more interesting, and it helped me improve on my fine motor skills which was a big step forward.


  2. Some children aren't ready for writing yet at the age of 6. He might need more work on his fine motor skills first. You might want to consider an evaluation by an occupational therapist before you assume it's behavior.
