How can i mount a chain to a ryobi weed eater engine?

Its a model 765r, and i am trying to mount it on a bike. I need a way to mount something to spin the chain on the engine's internal spindle.

  1. endless possibilities. however its really up to you, because it would be impossible to tell you how to do it without being there in person. you've got to find a sprocket that will fit on the engine and also fits the chain... maybe at a lawnmower shop? you can bolt the engine or weld it if you have to tools. dont duct tape unless you're an idiot.

  3. You can mount one, but:

    before doing this do some math on engine speed verses wheel  speed.

    A normal small gas engine is spinning way too fast in rpm's for what is needed for bike wheel rpm.  slow the engine down and you don't have enough torque/power.

    so you need to have some significant speed reduction, as your bike wheel wants about 100-300rpm  and your motor is going 2000 -5000 rpm.

    added advantage is as you gear speed down you multiply torque/power which is what you want  for hills.

    Do your own math based ou your wheel size etc.

    that is the usual challenge; consider a dual gear reduction system as it is hard to get a 10 to 1 speed reduction in one stage.
