  1. To open programs - press the windows key on the keyboard to open the start menu.  Use arrow keys to move around to your program.  Press enter to start the program.

To open files - try CTRL +O this works for MS office.

In office 2007  press alt +H for home - a set of letters/numbers appears and you press the one you want for the action you want.

In office 2003 Press alt+F for file, then first letter ( or underlined letter) for action

  2. I think what you want is shortcut keys for opening different files/programs/folders and so on. Well, you can do it in two ways -

1 - Make a shortcut of the file/folder you want to open with a keystroke (rt click then send to desktop). Now rt click on that shortcut and click Properties. Go to the Shortcut tab. In the shortcut key field press the keys with which you want to open the folder/file. Ctrl+Alt will come in the beginning and you cannot remove that.

Also, here you'll have to place your desktop so that it works.

2 - The second method is much much better as it allows you to have custom keystrokes. Download this freeware HotKeyz:http://www.download.com/HotKeyz/3000-234...

Install it and open it to add keystrokes to any, literally any, object on your computer. It even has keystrokes for Windows tasks like Volume Up/Down, Mute, Standby, Hibernate. Everything at the touch of keystrokes.

Surely, the second method is a much better bet.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Use the 'TAB' key to change the cusor location.

  4. Press the windows logo key (near the control and alt keys) to open the start menu.  Then use the arrow keys to find what you're looking for, and press enter to launch it.

  5. 1. microsoft help and support

    too many to post)
