How can i pimp my bike?

hi, i found this bike at my uncles garage and i want to use it for road races. its kinda old. what can i do to make this pimped up like new. not going to a bike repair thing but to pimp it yourself. i can get the supplies but u guys tell me what to do and what to get

for the bike? clean it up. get some new rubber on it (tubes tires, breaks), new bar tape and a new seat. re-pack the bearings, and possibly get new cables. beyond that? pimp the motor, not the bike. get some legs! train hard, race hard. get a new bike for racing, keep this as a commuter..

i wouldnt even bother, for the amount of money that it will take to pimp it, u could buy a brand new bike!

Don't waste your money, just buy a new good road bike, that's more of a commuter one

b!tchslap it a few times and make it sit on the corner all night...

That's a real project.  The wheels are in terrible condition.  Bars look rusted.  Headset and bottom bracket are probably shot.  Undoubtedly needs new cables all around.  Maybe the brake calipers and derailleurs are functional.  New pads, new tires...whoknowswhatelse??
