My laptop uses windows vista, and i used to be able to play sims 2, but for some reason, after about 2 months i could no longer do that. I have 3 expansion packs ; sims pets, nightlife and university. I have downloaded all the patches necessary off of the sims website, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.. The game crashes after about 5 minutes, 10 maximum. One of the main reasons i bought a laptop was so that i could finally play sims, but that seems to be one of the only things i can't do :( Any solutions? Thankyou. xxxx

  1. You really shouldn't have bought a laptop to play Sims2, because most laptops do not have the graphics cards to support the game. You should buy one of the Sims Stories games which are laptop compatible.

If you have onboard graphics on your laptop then you should stop playing immediately because the crashes are a sign your card or chip is overheating, which might cause irreversible damage to your motherboard. For hints for playing with onboard graphics see here:  http://hideki.modthesims2.com/wiki.php?t...

  2. Sometimes games just get corrupted, I'm not really sure why.  The only for sure thing I can tell you to try is reinstalling the game.  It should keep your saved games if you don't tell it to delete them.  See if you can go to "Programs and Features" and find a Reinstall or Change option when you click the Sims 2 program.  If not you can try just uninstalling it, and then reinstalling using the disk again.

  3. um...you take it to the store and they can fix it, is the warranty still work? But try uninstalling some 'cause it may be taking up too much space or reinstalling it too
