  1. You pay him, he is an employee, tell him basically what you stated at the beginning of your question and that is that you've learned from him as much as you believe you can but thank him very much!

    Politely fire him

Oh if he tells you that you still need a lot of help, lessons, whatever phrase if he does do so, then just tell him you guess you're beyond help because you've been paying him for lessons for a very long time and you still stink so you give up!

    Just an afterthought

  2. Be very kind and just say, "You know, you have really helped me a bunch. What do you think about me working on the pointers you have given me and take a break from lessons for a while? It seems like I have several good things to work on."

I'll let you know how my game is going and my index changes over the next few months.

  3. Just say that you are busy and are going to take a break for a while.  or just tell him that you'll call if you are interested because you have  a very busy schedule.

  4. be polite and just saying you needs take a break from lessons for now .too much is going on in my head need to practice .to many things going on in my head meal that more practice of what you tell me .and may be down the road get back together .

  5. Be honest with him. I'm sure he'll understand and might even suggest a different instructor for you to see. Don't lie to him because he'll find out sooner or later and if you decide to go back for more lessons from him, it will cause problems. Hope this helps.

  6. I can't rate yet, so I just wanted to say that I firmly believe M&M's is the best possible solution.

  7. Just tell him that you have decided that you are ready to stop your lessons. Be honest with him and hust come out and tell him although you apprecciate what he has done for you, you feel you are ready to move on to the next level.

  8. Tell him that his lessons have exposed your true potential however now you are unable to enjoy any round of golf due to the fact that you know how good you could be, thanks to him. Tell him you long for the days when you were crappy at golf but still had a smile when playing.

  9. da-chi-ti, I think you've answered your own question. Thank him for his time. Tell him he's a decent guy. Tell him you won't be booking any more lessons.

He will understand. People swap instructors all the time. We fail to make progress as fast as we hoped and we move on to a new coach in the hope of finding "The Secret".

Golf instructors are hardened to this reality. They don't take it personally.

As long as you're polite and honest you will be pleasantly surprised at his reaction.

  10. Tell him that you are not going to have a lesson for awhile and that you wish to put everything into practice.

You are going to see how it goes and if anything if troubling you then you will go back.

  11. You most likely want to first find out the other nearest courses in which you can take lessons because you do not want to take lessons from another instructor at the same place because this will cause friction. Then tell him that your schedule is changing at work and that you have to cut back on the lessons until your newer schedule is more consistent. Or, you tell him that you have a wrist injury which you want to allow to heal and fake some kind of injury. You may want to not cut him off complete but still go to him like 1/4 of the time and go to the other guy and the other course/location for the other 3/4 of your lessons.

  12. This is really simple.....you just tell him.....its not rocket science.
