  1. Set up the "hard" shots that always come up.....like a thin cut at one end and the cue ball having to travel all the way back to the other end......a cut shot and the cue ball coming right back to your side....or just the ones that trouble you the most.....if you are playing 9 ball........put out all 15 balls and play them in rotation.....having to travel from ball to ball in sequence will make it seem easier when there is only 9 on the table.......big thing is get there early and check out the run and lay of the tables and at the same time get used to the lighting and the cloth on the table.....plus find out where are the pretty girls are so you won't be looking for them when you start.....further distracting you!!!

  2. There are a number of practice drills available on the web try www.easypooltutor.com for very comprehensive instructional articles or I have a selection of drills via the coaching tab on my own site www.americanpool-network.co.uk

The best thing to look at first in my opinion though is your stroke and stance. If your stance is misaligned and you are not stroking the ball all the way through the shot then no matter what practice drill you use you will not improve. Stance and Stroke drills can be found at easypooltutor

  3. Set up shots, and other situations that may require some skill to do.
