So I've decided that I want a career in the army. I've done a little research, and I now know that I want to become an army officer, btw i'm not sure if it's called an officer in english, but it is in danish!

So anyway, tha question is, what can i do to prepare myself for a career in the army? what can i expect from being in the army? and finally, is there a big variation of what you'll work with everyday, or will it be the same thing day after day?

  1. Well the Army is not a bad deal depending on what your job is and where your stationed at. There is a huge difference between Enlisted and Officer. Also there is a big difference between Combat Jobs and Non-Combat Jobs.

You will need a Bachelors Degree to become a Commissioned Officer. As a Commissioned Officer you will get promoted much faster and make a lot more money than enlisted.

I am currently in Iraq and in an Army Infantry Battalion. Let me if you want to know more.

  2. to prepare yourself start training. Read leadership books, learn to use a compass and basic officer skills. In the army you can expect to achieve some pretty cool stuff there are specialized schools to go to. I.E. Airborne, Medic etc. Depending on your MOS it shouldn't be the same thing every day.
