How can i prepare to be a vet as a kid?

I want to b a vet but i'm a kid right now. i love animals and i want to work with them. they keep us company when we're alone and fill our hearts with joy so i want to help them be in best need. i need to know what i need to know to acomplish it. can you help me here?

Try what I'm doing. Volunteer at animal rescues and when you can start interning at a vets office. Its important that you realize that there are some really sad cases and you cant always save them. There are also some really bad owners and you cant do anything about it. Sometimes its really gross and Im not just talking about blood, decaying teeth, p**p, and more. I would also recomend that you keep your grades up and take hard classes. Vet school is harder to get into then medical school so be prepared and take the necessary classes in high school. I am in 12th grade and being a veterinarian has been my childhood dream. If I were you I would volunteer anywhere pet-related. Animal shelters and maybe even some veterinary clinics would be very happy to let you help out. Also, it will help you VERY much in the future when looking for a job. It gives you the opportunity to show on your resume all the places you've volunteered, and when employers see that you are a volunteer it definitely makes them want to hire you. And, even when you turn 17 or 18, trying to find a job that's animal related would help, even if it's the town pet shop or a grooming place. One last thing I would recommend is to research a lot on the career. Found out how much you make, what are the outlooks, and the benefits, and also find out the risks and downsides to the job. I did a few month school project on veterinary technicians and it's amazing how much you learn.

well if you have pets that always helps i am a kid and i want to be a vet too and if you live in the us the best medical school is ucdavis it is in California and anyways the best way to practice is when you are 16 get a job at your local vet as an assistant!!! good luck!!!
