How can i protect my innovation?

I HAVE THIS NEW INVENTION THAT I KNOW PEOPLE WILL LOVE TO HAVE IT, I CANNOT TELL YET WHAT IT IS TO ANYBODY OR EVEN SHOW IT, BECAUSE I`M AFRAID THAT SOMEBODY MAY DUPLICATE IT THEN SELL IT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. PLS ADVISE ME WHAT TO DO. THIS IS SOMEKIND OF A MACHINE OR APPLIANCES THAT CAN BE USE IN EVERYDAY ROUTINE, 24 HOURS ADAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK! THANKS AND GOD BLESS!

  1. 1. Have an Ideabook = Keep a bound ideabook of your invention idea. Date your entries.

    2. Get it Notarized = get it officially confirmed that you conceived your invention idea on a particular date, and have your notes notarized.

    3. Prepare a Non-Disclosure Form = Agreement signed between you and anyone you reveal your invention to.

    4. File a provisional patent application with the US Patent and Trademark Office to give you a patent pending status for at least a year.

    5. Hire a patent lawyer to apply for your patent
