By shopping in sites for stores they know of.

Purchase a gift card online and let them be there when purchasing.

Gift cards are safer than credit cards and you could set what limit to shopping amount you will spend. Having a credit card requires a bit of maturity/responsibility (not saying you are not).

Your not building the trust of your parent. They look at newspapers, tv, radio and hear all kinds of bad reports about scams. Just ask them.

Doing a bit of searching about a peticular site is not hard to do either. Using a registrars domain "whois" helps. The information given could sway your desicion in being an customer there. I generally tell people to watch for site with a year registration.

Using a report agency such as http://rip-offreport.com helps also. You could get information about some people and sites there.

ebay is really safe its garenteed

i have my mum buy me stuff online all the time

we never get any complications

and ebay  isnt the only good shopper i shop on a heck load of websites

if it wasnt safe then there wouldnt be so many online shops now would there?

Explain to them that it's the same as using an ATM. They're sending their bank info over the internet when they use their ATM card.
