so my parents are Catholics... and i think religion is kinda BS, (I'm agnostic) well my dad doesn't really enforce religion and neither does my mom, but she is making me do confirmation or confession, of whatever, cuz she grew up in Ireland, in a very catholic time. and i really don't wont to do some stupid ritual(don't report, if this was about satanists then you would say ritual so i'm gonna use ritual for all religion

  1. Either do it out of respect for your parents or let them know how you feel about religion and they can't force you to believe or follow anybody. It's your choice.

  2. I am not sure how old you are Sean.  But since you are talking comfirmation I assume you are in mid-teen range.  Based on that, you should do and accept what your mother is asking for now.  There are priests and counseling sessions with regard to questions or thoughts you have since you say you are agnostic.  It cannot hurt.

  3. if you don't than you can't get married ion a church but u can elope married outside by minister

  4. Just tell your parents that you really do not want to participate in confirmation or confession.  If they make you do it you will just be going through the ritual for them not for yourself.

If they still make you do it, try to make the most of it.  You may learn somethings and loose your stubbornness and decide your parents were right.

  5. Just come out with it, be firm and straight forward with them, that's what I did, both my mother and father are religious, and I just came out and told them, I don't want to be like this or that. They didn't take it very well at first but they got over it after.

  6. It's not a ritual. Just think of it as a class to be qualified for something. It doesn't matter if you want to be "qualified" because I'm sure there are certain classes in school you don't care at all about but still need to pass them in order to graduate. If you dislike religion that much, then complete the confirmation and everything else now at least to keep on good rapport with your parents.

  7. It seems like you havent truley listened to what the bible tells you, Public school mabey?

There is a wonderful reason to all the conformation and confessions, find that out and mabey you will want to do it. Pray about it even, i know your probably shaking you head at the computer screen rite now looking stupid, or youve just stopped reading by now, but seriousley There are billions of people in the world that have reasons, Listen to what the bible tells you, pray for help, seek help. Local church, sunday school, or mabey there is some teen class you could take at your church that is fun and interesting. Go on and try it. It wont hurt.

  8. IT DEPENDS HOW OLD U R?? SOMETIMES PARENTS IF UR YOUNG THEN SOMETIMES THEY FORCE U BUT IF UR OLD ENOUGH THEN THE BEST WAY TO PULL IT OFF IS JUST TALK TO HER AND TELL HER TO RESPECT UR DECISION AND THAT U DONT WANT TO DO THAT

  9. Either you try to talk with your parents about it or pretend to go along with it. when you move out you won't ever have to submit.
