  1. time out

    and no playing

  2. Take away his cell phone.(sarcasm intended)

  3. time outs.

    take away some favorite toys.

nothing violent, he's only 4 years old.

  4. Surely you realize this is a very sensitive question.  Obviously, it will require a little more explanation for anyone to take you seriously...What has he done?

  5. First off children should not be "Punished".  They should however have consiquences for their behavior, have their behavior redirected, and learn what they did wrong.  They should not be punished... by punishing a child they do not learn what they did that was wrong.  Punished is just a strong word that sounds like it should go along with child abuse.

  6. tell him off about what he has done and explain why it is wrong

  7. Punish him for what?  Why didn't you start by disciplineing him first?  Setting rules back when he was a year old? Setting boundaries?  Why do you need to punish him now?

  8. The "punishment" always depends on what he did.

But you could use apologies and explaining it's wrong and such, or even "time-out" but explain the "rules" and such.

Be just and fear not. :)

  9. It all depends on what he did and how severe it was.

  10. Give him a little slap on the hand ( just enough to get his attention, not abusively) or give him time out.

  11. It really depends on what he did wrong...  The punishment shouldn't be too harsh as he is just a child, but it should be something fitting for the "crime".  Make him understand what he did and WHY it was wrong.  They don't learn if you just spank them and send them to their room.  Teach him why he was wrong anddiscuss what would have been the right way to handle it.

  12. I have a 3 year old son and one of the most effective ways to discipline him I find is to take toys away. I just say if you are not going to listen right now then you aren't going to be able to play video games until tomorrow. It works well for us.

  13. you didn't say what he did wrong and you shouldn't focus so much on punishing. If you have good parenting, then punishment is less necessesary. Maybe you need to make adjustments to your parenting style in general. it's not always about how to punish the child, sometimes it's about changing your parenting.

  14. something that fits the crome but not to harsh
