How can i put a WEP KEY on my Linksys Wireless Router

Question

i need help and my wireless router can be access by people so i need to know how to put a wep key on it its a Linksys WRT100 so please ill give out 10 points for the person that can help me.

Find the IP address for the router. This can be found either on the underside of the router or in the manual.  The address will look something like this: 192.168.100.1

After obtaining the address, simply type it into your web browser and follow the onscreen instructions.

ok soo if it came with the ip go there and u will see some settings find the 1 with like 192.168.1.1 or w/e then u see wireless settings then click it after wards u might see security options and wep and wpa psk

click on wep and then on generate if it has press anything after generate then u will see choices to choose i dont know if this works cause i have a netgear but write it down if u cant remeber

Go to 192.168.1.1 in your web browser of choice and click on the wireless tab.  Then check the link below.

1) Open your IE Browser and  type 192.168.1.1

if it asked for any password..    it's  username  "admin" and, pw : admin  (it's the default settings for linksys router) - now you are in router setup

( make sure you haven't using any proxy on your browser)

2) got to Wireless menu > wireless security > Security mode > select WEP

type a 10 digits code  (eg:9876501234)  in key1  raw

Click Save Settings..

your router will be restarted now and wireless will be with secure password

Log into the router, go to the wireless section and find the security area.  That's where you set your wep key.  Make sure to write it down.

Once you log in to your router (192.168.1.1) using your web browser you will be prompted for user name and password. Leave user name blank and password is "admin". You will then see various tabs and the one you want is "wireless" then "wireless security". You also should visit Linksys' website and update your firmware. Just go to the site and enter your model number and download the firmware.

Type in the IP address of your router in your web browser...by default it is usually

http://192.168.0.1

or

http://192.168.1.1

or

http://192.168.2.1

The IP address may even be listed on the router itself. Once you figure it out, a web page will appear allowing you to edit your router's settings.

it shows you the web key on the program as you are setting it up, but you can't display it on it all the time, you have to give the people the key number.
