How can i put notes on the ipod?

i'm trying to put some notes on my ipod classic and i have Mac but i still cant figure out how to put the notes on it.

when you connect your ipod the folder should pop up

then you can type something in whatever word program you have, save it then drag it to notes

I just came across a site that sends you an iPod for free! I'm ordering mine right now, going for the black one :)
