How can i put on some pounds?

to me i am extremely to skinny and i saw on tv how this girl went to a nutritionist to gain some weight and he told her some foods to eat. Can anybody give me some tips on foods i should eat to gain some wieght please?

  1. How old are you because your body might just need to mature. and if that is not the case then try to eat foods like fish, nuts & avovados. make sure you get enough cardio and weight training so you don't just get fat instead of gaining weight. Hope this helps! =) good luck


  2. Ha ha your just like me. I need to gain some weight too. Add 500 more calories to your diet (add 500= gain 1 pound, subtract 500 = lose 1 pound). This doesn't mean you should eat 2 Oreo cookies. Eat a nutritious meal. Speaking of meals, you should be eating 6 small meals instead of eating 3 solid meals a day. Exercise and the incorporation of weights is good too. I know your thinking; exercise will burn your calories.  Only 20 minutes of cardio (running, biking etc.) is needed to burn fat so you don't gain fat. Cardio is healthy for the body. Also to make sure that you use handweights (dumbells and barbells) to to tone your muscles so you don't lose muscle. Don't worry you won't end up bulky like female bodybuilders. They eat excess calories (usually around 4000 or 5000 which is about twice as much as a grown man would eat and do heavy, intense workouts for hours.

  3. healthy wholesome foods. lots of it. not food to make u gain fat. but good food to make u gain muscle. just like lean meat and wheat and fruits. but eat a lot of it.

  4. To gain weight in a healthy way do:

    1) increase your portions in ALL food groups - especially the MEAT group.

    So, for example, if you eat like maybe 4 servings of meat everyday eat MORE as in maybe 6-7 servings instead.

    2) build muscle.

    to do this, lift weights, do curl-ups, crunches, push-ups, etc. everyday or join a sport that involves building muscle

    However, the problem may be is that you have really fast metabolism! Or that you may have not matured yet.

    But for now, try to eat more meat or if you are vegetarian, eat more nuts (nuts are really good for you but some have higher calories which may help you gain weight) rice is a great way to gain more weight too. Basically, eat more carbohydrates.

    these foods include:

    - rice

    - meat

    - breads (lots of breads)

    and others.

    other foods to eat to help gain weight:

    - more milk (full milk will really help)

    - dairy products like cheese

    also, you could try eating a lot of junk food, but that will not be so good  since it will be bad for your health, btw. I hope you'll find a way to reach the weight you want! good luck(:
